What to look for in a used Ram
5.7L HEMI valve-lifter and MDS issues affect some years (especially 2009-2012); newer trucks are mostly resolved. eTorque mild-hybrid (2019+) is reliable but adds complexity at high mileage. Air suspension is excellent when working — verify operation across all four corners on the test drive. EcoDiesel: check oil cooler and timing chain history. Cummins inline-six in 2500/3500 is the most durable diesel in light-duty trucks — past 300K is normal.
