What to look for in a used GMC
5.3L V8 (4.8L on older Sierra/Yukon) is durable; AFM cylinder deactivation can cause oil consumption on certain years (2007-2014) — verify with compression test if budget allows. Duramax in 2500HD/3500HD is one of the best diesels in heavy-duty class — check fuel system and emissions history. Yukon Magnetic Ride Control on Denali needs verification. Acadia 3.6L V6 had a known timing chain issue on early years (2007-2012); newer 2017+ refresh is solid.
