What to look for in a used Chevrolet
On Silverado and Tahoe with the 5.3L V8, watch for active fuel management lifter issues on certain model years (2014-2018) — ask whether the lifters have been replaced or AFM disabled. Equinox 2.4L engine had timing chain wear on early 2010-2013 models; favor 2014+ or LS variants. Cruze 1.4L turbo prefers premium fuel and regular oil changes. Body and bed condition on Silverado is the single biggest value driver after mileage.
